
Rollins Hands Tampa Its Biggest Loss Of Season
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (8-6, 3-3 SSC) men's basketball team suffered its worst loss of the 2009-10 season, falling 72-55 to No. 23 Rollins College (12-3, 4-1 SSC) in a Sunshine State Conference meeting. The loss also marks the third in a row for Tampa.
Rollins led for the entire game, carrying a 31-22 advantage to intermission. The Tars led by as many as 24 in the second half while shooting 55.6 percent from the field. Rollins also outrebounded the Spartans by a 37-25 clip.
Anthony LaBruno led all Spartans with 18 points, all of which were 3-pointers. Freshman Callum Townsend added 15 points for UT.
Rashad Callaway turned in another solid performance, finishing with 12 points while connecting on 6-6 from the free throw line. Callaway also led Tampa with 10 assists, four steals and seven rebounds.
