Spartans Total Seven Men's Lacrosse All-American Selections
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's lacrosse team had seven student-athletes honored as All-American selections by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA). Among the honorees are second-team selection Ben French, third-team selection Matthew Beddow, third-team selection Ross Dickerson, and third-team selection Jake Mosher McGraw. The Spartans also had three honorable mentions in Jack Wood, Blake Ulmer, and Scott Phillips.
French, a senior from Toronto, Canada, finished the season leading the Spartans with 39 goals on 106 shots. He also added 18 assists and was second on the team in points with 57. Additionally, French had 18 groundballs and 5 caused turnovers. French also was selected to the All-Sunshine State Conference First-Team. This is his first time being named to the All-American Second-Team.
Beddow, a sophomore from San Diego, Calif., started all eleven games for the Spartans defense this season and finished with 21 caused turnovers and 25 ground balls. He also added 3 assists during his sophomore campaign. Beddow was named to the Sunshine State All-Conference First-Team in 2021. This is his first time being recognized as a Third-Team All-American.
Dickerson, a senior from Berlin, Md., was among the top faceoff specialists in the nation in 2021, winning 151 of 230 faceoffs for a .657 season faceoff percentage. Dickerson finished second in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) in ground balls with 107 while also adding four goals and one assist to his name. This is Dickerson's third consecutive year receiving USILA All-American honors. The team captain also received First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference honors and won SSC Specialist of the week four times.
Mosher McGraw, a senior from Saint John, New Brunswick, was third on the team in goals this season with 17. Additionally, he recorded 5 assists, 7 ground balls, and two caused turnovers for the Spartans. This is Mosher McGraw's third season earning All-American honors. He was also named to the First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference team.
