Tampa ranks No. 2 in the nation
LOUISVILLE, KY - Le Moyne and Tampa come in ranked as the first and second teams in the nation in week two of the USILA Coaches Poll.
The Spartans' success this season has stemmed from their solid defensive play, as they have the fifth best defense in the country. The defense is led by goalkeeper Blake Ulmer, who ranks second in the country with 54 total saves, averaging 18 per game. The defense is also fueled by Matthew Beddow, and Sam Collingwood, who have each recorded four caused turnovers thus far.
The Spartans offense is ranked 13th in the country with 70 total points, 44 goals, averaging 23.33 points per game, with goals being led by Owen Miller (8), Ronan Sanchez (6), Kellen Hoke (6), and Luke McAnaney (6). Harry Kilkowski and Colin White lead the team with seven and five assists respectively.
The Sunshine State Conference is well-represented as four teams rank in the top 20, Tampa (2), Rollins (14), Florida Southern (16), Florida Tech (20).
Tampa looks to continue their dominant play after coming off a 13-8 victory against No. 8 Lenoir-Rhyne as they take on Frostburg State on March 5 in North Carolina.
