Spartans Set to Take on Defending National Champions in Top 5 Matchup

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The No. 4 Spartans travel to Savannah, Ga. to take on the 2023 National Champions.

The Matchup: No. 4 University of Tampa (2-0, 0-0 SSC) vs. No. 1 Lenoir-Rhyne (3-0, 0-0 SAC)

Series History: Tampa holds a 7-3 lead over the Bears in the overall series. 

About the Spartans: Tampa comes into this game with an overall 2-0 record. The Spartans have started the 2024 season off hot having amassed 38 goals thus far in just two games which leads the Sunshine State Conference. Senior, Canyon Birch leads the team and is tied for the lead in the SSC for goals scored (8).

About the Bears: The Bears come into the season as the No. 1 ranked team by the USILA. Lenoir-Rhyne defeated No. 9 UIndy at home a week ago, 14-7. Lenoir-Rhyne fell to Tampa in the regular season a year ago but defeated the Spartans at home in the NCAA Tournament.
