Spartans to Close Out 2024 Regular Season, Hope to End SSC Play Perfect

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Tampa to close out the regular season on the road versus Florida Tech.

The Matchup: No. 3 University of Tampa (14-1, 6-0 SSC) Florida Tech (5-7, 4-2 SSC)

Series History: Tampa holds an impressive 19-2 record over Florida Tech in the all-time series history. 

About the Spartans: Tampa men's lacrosse is set to play its final game of the 2024 regular season on Wednesday. UT has won 12 straight games and currently sits atop the Sunshine State Conference with a perfect 6-0 record. Tampa has already clinched a bye in the SSC Tournament and hopes to finish conference play undefeated and win the title for the seventh time. Andrew Milani and Luca Mercaldo were most recently named SSC Players of the Week for their standout performances last week.

About the Panthers: Florida Tech is 5-7 on the year but has won four of six SSC matchups this season. The last time these two programs matched up, the Panthers played the Spartans close but were outlasted, 13-8. Like Tampa, Florida Tech will play their final regular season game this evening with hopes of knocking off a top-five nationally ranked opponent.
