
SSC Championship Preview: Top Seeded Tampa Hosts Rollins
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's lacrosse team is set to play in the SSC Championship on Saturday at 12 PM.
Tampa will make its eighth appearance in the finals and the program boasts an impressive 7-0 record in championship games.

How They Got Here:
Both teams earned byes to the semifinal round after finishing first and second in the SSC standings.
#1 Tampa extended their winning streak to 14 games by defeating Florida Southern College 17-11 in the semifinals. Andrew Milani scored six goals to lead all scorers for the game. Jackson Bashaw scored four goals and Nick Papa scored three. Luca Mercaldo made 12 saves in the win. The Spartans have scored 279 goals this season and still lead the conference in goals allowed per game (9.10).
#2 Rollins used a great all-around performance to defeat Florida Tech 18-6 in the semifinals and advance to the championship game. Jack Johnstone scored five goals, while Grant Hansen scored four. Shahe Katchadurian saved 11 shots while allowing just five goals. The Tars have allowed the fewest goals in the SSC this season (141) and have the second-lowest goals-against average (9.40).
2024: Tampa defeated Rollins 16-11 on March 23rd in Tampa. In that game, Bashaw and Charlie Bolesh each scored three goals for the Spartans. Johnstone scored three goals in defeat.
