No. 1 Spartans Look to Finish Perfect in Conference at Florida Southern
LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 1 ranked University of Tampa men's lacrosse team looks to complete their perfect regular season as they travel to face Sunshine State Conference rival Florida Southern on Wednesday.

Series History: Tampa has owned the all-time series with Florida Southern, holding a 21–2 advantage, including a 12–7 win earlier this season. The Spartans have scored 10 or more goals in all but one meeting, including a 12-7 victory earlier this season.
About the Spartans: Following a dominant week in which they posted two SSC wins and outscored opponents 34–11, the University of Tampa men's lacrosse team remains the No. 1 ranked team in the USILA national poll for the seventh consecutive week. Michael Flores earned his 13th career Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week honor after winning 22 of 31 faceoffs and scoring a goal last week, placing him third all-time in SSC weekly honors. In the first meeting against Florida Southern this season, Jackson Bashaw recorded a first-half hat trick, while Ryan Kemp added a hat trick and two assists. Connor Theriault anchored the defense with 13 saves on 20 shots, and continues to lead the conference in saves per game, while Kemp sits atop the SSC in goals per game.
About the Moccasins: Florida Southern enters the regular season finale at 3–10 overall and 1–5 in conference play, currently riding a three-game losing streak. Their lone SSC win came against Palm Beach Atlantic, while their most recent losses came to Florida Tech and Lynn, both of whom have received votes in the USILA national rankings. The Moccasins have struggled defensively, allowing 10 or more goals in every SSC game, including a 12–7 loss to Tampa in the teams' first meeting earlier this season.
