Chaotic Penn Relays
April 24-26, 2025
Philadelphia, PA -- A small group from the men's distance team suited up and headed to Pennsylvania to represent Tampa at the infamous Penn Relays. This chaotic meet is known for the unanticipated events, stumbles and fast feet. The Tampa men executed their races to say the least, celebrated two new school records and a national provisional qualification. Gabe McConville ran the 1500m for his first event. Running a time of 3:47.95, McConville now claims the title on the school record list in another event. This time will put him in the running for nationals coming up in late May. The Spartans also put out their best 4x800m relay team consisting of Josh Hindman, George Alexander, Zach Kehler, and Gabe McConville. They ran a 7:46.60 clenching the school record title by nine seconds. Even though Kehler may have been table topped by another team laying on the track, these Spartans demonstrated their resilience and determination. Good job Spartans!
The Spartans will head up to Jacksonville to run at UNF this weekend!
