GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The University of Tampa men's cross country team ran to a second-place finish at the annual UF Mountain Dew Invitational.

  • Hammill was the top Spartan runner in his first collegiate race.
  • Fellow freshman Reffitt also finished in the team's top five as classmate Brian Veit finished 32nd overall.
  • A total of 12 teams competed.
  • Head coach Dror Vaknin had 22 runners compete in the race.
  • Other Sunshine State Conference schools at the event were Saint Leo (3), Embry-Riddle (4) and Lynn (7).
