George Alexander Leads Spartans to VSU Invite Win

VALDOSTA, Ga. – The University of Tampa men's cross country team opened its 2022 campaign with a first-place team finish at the Valdosta State Invitational.

OTHER NOTABLES:

Alexander started his sophomore campaign as the top Spartan in the event, also the meet runner-up.
Hammill, also a sophomore, followed as the fourth-place finish represented his first collegiate top-five effort.
A transfer from Kutztown, Cerisier cracked the UT top five in his Spartan debut.
Head coach Dror Vaknin registered 17 runners in the event.
Brian Veit (11), Aaron Englehardt (13), Caleb Belmont (15) and Aidan Barich (16) also cracked the top-20.
Valdosta State's Brishen House was the individual champion with a time of 23:30.4.
Also representing the Sunshine State Conference was Lynn, who finished fifth overall.
