Tampa Takes One But Come Up Short On The Day

Miami Shores, Fla. - Tampa win one and fall short in the second.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME ONE:

• Tampa and Barry tested each other at the plate keeping the score 0-0 all the way through six innings. The Spartans got on the board first in the top of the seventh after Megan deVilliers singled up the middle, driving in Camryn Wineinger. The Buccaneers would respond in the bottom of the seventh with a run of their own, sending the game into extra innings.
• In the top of the ninth Mariah Galhouse put Tampa in front hitting a home run, bringing in pinch runner Abigal Siegel to make the score 3-1. 
• Kinnah Kreidler would follow in Galhouse's foot steps hitting a home run herself extending the Spartans lead to 4-1. The Tampa defence would close out the game securing the victory after nine innings.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Gwen McGinnis pitched 6.1 innings, struck out four batters , allowed five hits, and conceded one run. 
• Galhouse earned the win pitching 2.2 innings, striking out two batters, allowing three hits, and conceding zero runs. 
• Galhouse 1-2, two RBI.
• deVilliers 2-4, RBI.
• Kreidler 1-4, RBI.

HOW IT HAPPENED - GAME TWO:

• Barry got on the board in the bottom of the second when Mac Stone-Folmar reached first on a fielder's choice to shortstop, and Paige White scoring an unearned run on a throwing error.
• Tampa tied the game in the sixth inning after Mariah Galhouse reached first on a fielding error and Lauren Fantone scored, unearned.
• Stone-Folmar won the game for barry after hitting a walk-off home run to left center.

INSIDE THE STATS:

• Galhouse pitched 6.1 innings, struck out three batters, allowed five hits, and conceded two runs.
• Lilly Kiester 2-3.
