Tampa Falls To No.14 Sharks
The Tampa Spartans women's basketball team traveled to Ft. Lauderdale to take on the No.14 Nova Southeastern Sharks.
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. -The University of Tampa's women's basketball team faced off against Sunshine State Conference foe Nova Southeastern Wednesday night at NSU Arena, the Spartans fell by a score of 63-75.
The game was a back and forth affair which ended up being knotted up at halftime 35-35, with good offensive efforts from both teams.
However, at the start of the third quarter, the Sharks took the lead and never looked back, as they went on a 16-9 run and ended up outscoring UT 21-15 in the quarter.
Juliana Cavallaro led the Tampa offense with 19 points. Also contributing was Elena de Alfredo and Ellen Nurmi, who both chipped in with double figures in the loss.
Following the loss, UT drops to 13-10 on the season.
