
No.4 Spartans Burn Through No.8 Rollins
TAMPA, FL. – The No.4 University of Tampa women's lacrosse team burn through No.8 Rollins on a hot Saturday afternoon on their home turf.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Quarter: The game opened with Tampa taking the first shot but it was saved by Rollins, but a failed clear attempt from Rollins resulted in Tampa gaining the ball back. Tampa knocked a goal in then Rollins responded with one of their own. The first few goals were matched by each team before Tampa took the lead and never let go. The goals for the Spartans were scored as follows:

Second Quarter: The second quarter came out with Tampa showing their power never allowing Rollins near the goal. They went on a 4-0 run to extend their lead further. Riley McGettigan added a pair of assists to the stat sheet to assist the team in taking a substantial lead at halftime The Spartan goals headed into halftime were scored as follows:

Third Quarter: The third quarter opened with Tampa scoring again with a goal by Sarah Hinkle. Rollins sunk two goals in this quarter putting them at five points on the afternoon. This didn't bother Tampa as they continued to punch the ball into the back of the net every opportunity they got. Hinkle and Lizzie Pierpont contributed big this quarter adding to their long list of contributions to the team. The Spartans goals were scored as follows:

Fourth Quarter: The last quarter started with Rollins getting on the board first as they entered with a burst of last minute energy. Tampa took the game at their own pace scoring two more goals this quarter by Cece Colombo and McGettigan. Rollins scored another goal in the closing seconds of the game, but it wasn't enough to stop Tampa's dominant performance on a hot Saturday afternoon.
