#20 Tampa Scores Five to Defeat West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. - The 20th-ranked University of Tampa (3-2) women's soccer team got goals from five different players to defeat the University of West Georgia (2-2-1) by a 5-1 score.
Freshman Charlotte White scored the first UT goal, finding the back of the net at 16:05 from Samantha Kay. The goal also marked the first career collegiate goal for White.
Maria Mohammed tacked on another goal for the Spartans prior to halftime as she scored in the 31st minute. Courtney Evans tallied the assist to send UT to halftime with a 2-0 advantage.
It took freshman Brittan Spence less than two minutes into the second half to score, as teammates Shelby Kuni and Martha Bromfield were awarded the assists. Kuni was the next to score, at 54:29, from Spence and Evans.
Following a goal by West Georgia's Erika Harvey, Tampa scored its fifth goal of the evening at 63:56 as Evans added a goal to her impressive performance. Freshman Jazmin Perry had the assist on the final goal.
Freshmen goalkeepers Kendall Bourdon and Caitlin Fox each played a half, with Bourdon securing three saves in the first half. Fox added a second half save as UT outshot UWG 25-12 and 11-5 on shots on goal.
Tampa is back in action on Sunday as it travels to North Georgia for a 1 p.m., matchup.
