TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa (6-8-1, 2-3 SSC) women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Barry University (4-10, 2-4 SSC) in sudden death on Friday night despite outshooting the Buccaneers 23-7. Melissa Madrid broke the 0-0 tie in the 98th minute.
The Spartans controlled most of the play throughout the game and recorded four shots on goal, while keeper Kendall Bourdon recorded three saves on the night.
Barry's Brianni Lorenzo and Michelle Tarasiuk worked together to feed a ball up the middle to Madrid who put a hard shot ball past Tampa keeper Bourdon. The Spartans return to play on the road on Wednesday against Rollins.
