The University of Tampa (8-1-2, 2-1 SSC) women's soccer team defeated Florida Tech (4-6-1, 1-3 SSC) by a final score of 2-0 Wednesday night at Pepin Stadium.
Junior Cici Gonzalez opened up the scorebook for Tampa with a header in the 17th minute assisted by senior Gabby Russo.
The Spartans displayed impressive play on both sides of the field in the first half with six shots on goal with the defense allowing none.
Sophomore Hannah Watts netted her second goal of the season in the 78th minute assisted by sophomore Kaley Ward.
Tampa's defense continued to stand strong in the second half only allowing only one shot.
Junior Lauren Moore led The Spartans in the shots on goal column with two on the night.
