HOW IT HAPPENED:
FIRST HALF: Despite the Spartan's offensive struggles in the past few games, Madison McElhone stopped that with the first shot. Sneaking one past Lynn's keeper, McElhone put the Spartans up 1-0 in the first four minutes. Although there was action throughout the half, with a total of twelve shots between the teams, the only shot that ended in the back of the net was McElhone's.
SECOND HALF: The Spartans would do all they could to keep the ball on their offensive side of the field to avoid the Knights from quality opportunities. Aidan Smith would tally two more saves in the second half to shut out the Knights.
INSIDE THE STATS:
- Aidan Smith recorded a total of four saves.
- Tampa had a total of seven shots during the match.
- McElhone receives her second goal of the season.
