Spartans Tie Eagles 1-1 in Road Matchup

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Univeristy of Tampa Spartans found the second half equalizer after a road battle against the Embry-Riddle Eagles.

Records: Tampa Spartans 4-1-4, (0-1-3), Embry-Riddle Eagles 7-3-2, (3-1-2)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

FIRST HALF:

The start of the game saw both teams battling for possession. The Spartans had two chances in the first ten minutes. In the 31st minute, the Eagles would score off a corner to open the game. Sydni Dennis nearly had the answer minutes later, hitting a shot from a distance that hit the crossbar.

SECOND HALF:

Spartans Brooke Kittner quickly found the equalizer, in the 50th minute, off a Dennis corner. Aidan Smith showed up for the Spartans making three saves in the second half. Offensively, the Spartans kept their foot on the gas recording five shots, but could not find the game-winner.
