
Spartans Fall in Final Regular Season Meet
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The University of Tampa men's and women's swimming teams were both defeated by Indian River State College on Saturday, with the No. 13 men falling 159.5-102.5 and the No. 9 women 153-109.
Norbert Kovacs claimed three first-place finishes for the Spartan men, winning the 200 Free (1:43.60), 500 Free (4:45.49) and 100 Fly (51.24). Jason Khoury won the 200 Back (1:58.36) as Elias Dammann was the fastest in the 1,000 Free (10:16.23).
On the women's side, reigning SSC Swimmer of the Week Catherine Parker was tops in the 200 Fly (2:09.01). Also winning for UT were Erin Plachy in the 50 Free (24.53), Lindsay Calimer in the 100 Fly (58.27) and Alex Hipolito in the 200 IM (2:09.10)
Tampa will be back in action at the Sunshine State Conference Championships, which is scheduled for Feb. 15-18 at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.
