
2015-16 SSC Swimming Season Outlook
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference's sixth season of men's and women's swimming is almost in full swing. All 13 teams look to improve upon a 2014-15 campaign that brought forth 30 SSC meet records, 28 conference records, eight individual national championships and four Top-10 NCAA Championship team finishes.
2015 Sunshine State Conference Meet
Champions….Florida Southern College walked out of the YMCA Aquatic Center as SSC champions in men's swimming for the third consecutive year. Nova Southeastern women's swimming took the champions plunge in to the competition pool for the second time in program history.
Swimmer of the Meet…honors went to Daniel Bis (Fr., Kalisz, Poland) of Saint Leo University and Rebecca Matthews (Gr., Montpellier, France) of Lynn University. Bis broke meet records in the 500, 1000, and 1650 Free. Matthews set conference and meet records in the 100 & 200 Breaststroke as well as the 200 Individual Medley.
Records…Women's swimmers set 16 meet records and 11 overall conference records during the event. NSU swimmers bested 12 meet records and eight conference records. Men's swimmers took part in topping 14 meet records and nine overall conference records.

2015 NCAA Division-II National Championship
Thirty-four male and 26 female student-athletes from the Sunshine State Conference competed at the 2015 NCAA Division-II National Championship, 12 more athletes than in 2014. Nova Southeastern and Tampa lead the way for the conference with 16 male and female swimmers each.
Highlighting the SSC team finishes at the national meet were Nova Southeastern women and Florida Southern men. Both programs concluded the championship with Top-5 finishes. For FSC, it was their fourth straight Top-5 finish.
