
CSCAA Recognizes 23 Spartans as Scholar All-Americans
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) named 1,479 swimmers and divers to Scholar All-American Team for the 2019-20 season. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Selections were drawn from 209 colleges and universities.
The University of Tampa was heavily represented as head coach Jimi Kiner had a total of 23 Spartans recognized for their academic success. A total of eight members of the men's team and 15 from the women's squad were recipients of the honor.
Additionally, both Spartan teams were recognized as Scholar All-America teams as the men had a 3.392 GPA in the spring while the women came in at 3.702. Both teams ranked as the top overall University of Tampa athletic teams in GPA for 2019-20.
