
Hana van Loock Earns Female Scholar-Athlete Award
Tampa, Fla. - The University of Tampa athletics department is proud to name Hana Van Loock, a senior and four-time All-American member of the women's swimming team, the 2020-21 Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
An Essen, Germany native, Van Loock's accomplishments at UT are many. She is a four-time All-American in the pool. She is also a three-time First-Team All-Conference selection and a three-time selectee of the Sunshine State Conference Commissioners Honor Roll.
Van Loock won the Elite 90 Award for the 2021 NCAA Division II Women's Swimming Championship. The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring individuals who have reached the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. She has a perfect 4.0 GPA in her time at UT.
Van Loock was a finalist at the 2021 NCAA Division II National Championships and placed 6th in the 200-yard free with a time of 1:49.76. She is a two-time Sunshine State Conference champion in the 100-yard free and 200-yard free with times of 50.12 and 1:49.30, respectively.
