Pair of Spartans Swimmers and Rower Named Academic All-Americans
TOWSON, Md. - The 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large Teams as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) have been announced, with a total of three representing the University of Tampa.
Swimmers Alexandria Greenhill and Kristine Kassl were both honored as rower Melissa Ciesielski also earned the prestigious status as Academic All-Americans.
Greenhill was a second-team selection as her teammate, Kassl, was a third-team choice. Both were also All-Americans and part of the 800 Free Relay team that claimed an NCAA national championship. Both are allied health majors.
Ciesielski led the UT rowing team as an all-Sunshine State Conference selection. She earned this distinction as a marine biology major.
The Capital One Division II Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2012-13 Division II Academic All-America® teams program.
The Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Men's At-Large program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo and wrestling. The Capital One Academic All-America® Division II Women's At-Large program includes the sports of bowling, crew, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis and water polo.
