
University of Tampa Places 79 on SSC Fall Honor Roll
MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference recognized 836 student-athletes on the 2023 Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll presented by Barnes & Noble College. The University of Tampa totaled 79 student-athletes across the five fall sports on the list.
The awards were announced on Tuesday, February 6th, by SSC Commissioner Ed Pasque. Of the student-athletes recognized, 201 carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the fall semester.
Tampa, which also had 14 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA, was led by women's soccer with 23 players awarded. Both volleyball and men's soccer placed 18 individuals on the list, with women's cross country garnering 12 and men's cross country eight.

This year's student-athlete total breaks the previous record number of 813 student-athletes named to the 2022 Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll. It is the eleventh consecutive record-breaking fall for the SSC Honor Roll.
Student-athletes must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00 to be eligible for the Fall SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. Participants in men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball were eligible for the fall honor roll.
Having won 122 Division II National Championships since the league was founded in 1975, SSC student-athletes have proven successful in competition in addition to the classroom. SSC student-athletes recently achieved an NCAA Division II record 89-percent Academic Success Rate (ASR) following the 2022-23 academic year. The SSC ranks first among NCAA Division II conferences in ASR and has never fallen below second in the metric's 17-year history.
