Bio

Taylor Brannon joined the University of Tampa athletics staff in August 2021 as the Assistant Director for Academic and Student Services.

Brannon collaborates with all athletic teams to support the academic, career and leadership development of student-athletes. She monitors the academic success and progress of the student-athletes, coordinates academic and tutorial support, and assists in the leadership of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Prior to joining the UT staff, Brannon served as the Academic Advisor for the football and women’s basketball programs at Temple University from 2017-2021. In addition, she was a Learning Specialist and assistant Tutor Coordinator for all student-athletes. While there, Brannon assisted the Owls in achieving an overall department GPA above a 3.0 for 19 consecutive semesters. She also taught University Seminar as an adjunct professor for three years.

From 2015-17, she served as an Assistant Academic Advisor for baseball, men’s basketball, women’s rowing, and women’s basketball at the University of Central Florida (UCF). Some of her responsibilities included academic development and assistant teaching for the College of Education.

Brannon has presented at the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) conference and NCAA APPLE Conference and is a current member of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals (N4A), the national organization for athletics departments' academic services.

Taylor Brannon (native of Fort Wayne, Ind.) graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor’s in Anthropology and Sociology and was a captain of the women’s volleyball team, president of SAAC, and creator of the PACK Peer Mentor Program. Additionally, she earned a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UCF.
