Bio

Paul Russo was the University of Tampa’s first Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year in 1990. He was a two-time first-team All-American. In 1989 and 1990 he was named All-South Region Player of the Year. He holds the school record for hits in a season and ranks second only to Tino Martinez in several school offensive categories. He went on to play in Major League Baseball with the New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, Minnesota Twins, and Houston Astros. He was inducted into the SSC Hall of Fame in 2004.
