Tampa Concludes Regular Season With Two Wins
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The University of Tampa Spartans Beach Volleyball team came out strong Saturday as they defeated Florida Gulf Coast and Mercer in the Eckerd College Battle on the Bay, winning 4-1 against both opponents.
DUAL 1:
In their first game against FGCU, Tampa came out hot as each pair of Spartans would battle their opponents and come out on top as a team. In the one position, Julia Oswald and Rachel Rosequist would just drop their first set, but battle back in the second set and ultimately take the third for their win. In the four position, Kiersten Anderson and Madison Brunick would also just drop their first set, but similarly would come back in their second and third. In the two- and three- positions, UT would handle business quickly in just two sets.

DUAL 2:
The Spartans second match of the day would turn out much like the first, bobbling a few sets, but ultimately coming out on top to finish the day 2-0. In the one- and two- positions, UT would drop their first sets to Mercer, but come back in dominating fashion to prove themselves victors.

The Spartans third game of the day against Eckerd has been canceled due to weather. They will be back in competition to wrap up their season this week at the AVCA Small College Championships, April 16-18.
