Tampa Hosts No. 20 Florida Gulf Coast On Senior Day

HOW IT HAPPENED:
v.s. No. 20 FGCU: The Spartans played their only home match of the season on Sr. Day as they took on No. 20 FGCU for the second time in five days. Head Coach, Jeff Lamb mixed up the Spartans' lineup once again by pairing seniors Katie McKiel and Melissa Elias in the 3's, Kiersten Anderson with Rachel Rosequist in the 2's. Payton Brunick and Julia Oswald were paired together in the 1's. The Eagles would eventually claim the match 3-2, but not before Elias and McKiel, who played with each other for a large portion of the year last season, put on an all-around display dominating their matchup and winning in straight sets. Although it took an extended third set, Oswald and Brunick, similarly captured the final match of the day.
UP NEXT: The Spartans travel to Atlanta, GA this weekend to play in the GSU Diggin Duals. Tampa will take on No. 11 Georgia State, Tennessee Chattanooga, UAB, and Austin Peay.
