UT Wraps Up Play At The Seminole Beach Bash
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 19 University of Tampa Spartans concluded the Seminole Beach Bash after battling three of the nation's best.
In the first duel of the weekend, No. 19 Tampa had their hands full with No. 4 FSU as the Seminoles won in straight sets on all courts. Following their loss, the Spartans had a quick turnaround and bounced back with a sweep against the Warhawks where three Tampa pairs helped clinch the win in a third set. Tampa then faced a familiar foe, No. 16 GSU, for the second time this season where Teona Treskounov and Angel Williams were the only Spartans' pair to capture a win. Heading into the next day, the Spartans hoped to split the weekend with a win over No. 17 Stetson; however, the Hatters edged out a win by claiming the 2's, 3's, and 5's. Three Tampa pairings went 2-2 over the weekend including Olivia Margolies and Payton Brunick, who competed as the 1's pairing as well as Keely Hamilton and Madison Brunick, who competed at both the 4's and the 5's.
