Pair of Wins on Day One in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Pair of match sweeps on day one in West Palm Beach.

Tampa got off to an earlier start on Friday having had to move the match start time up one hour to 7:30 am due to weather. Olivia Margolies and Payton Brunick paired up in the 1's and would win a competitive match in straight sets. Keely Hamilton and Madison Brunick paired up as the 2's and also won in straight sets. The win for Hamilton and Brunick pushed them to 15-4 overall on the season. Tampa would continue with wins in straight sets in the 3's and 5's. Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe clinched a victory after a 21-13, 21-11 win and Cassidy Ehrie and Hailey Peterson won convincingly 21-7, 21-9. Teona Treskounov and Angel Williams paired together as the 4's and won in three sets following a second-set loss.

The Spartans would mix it up a little in their next match versus Tusculum. Ehrie and Williams would pair together in the 4's and win a tight match and Treskounov would slide down to the 5's with Peterson. Treskounov and Peterson would win the first set, 21-15, and go on to win the second set with ease, 21-11. The rest of Tampa's pairings would remain the same. The Spartans would win the duel 4-1 with only Margolies and Brunick dropping their respective match.
