Spartans Hold Senior Day on Saturday to Close out Regular Season Play

TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa Beach Volleyball to play final home tournament in the 2024 season and will honor its seniors before its final match on Saturday.

About the Spartans: The University of Tampa beach volleyball team is set to play its final home tournament of the year and will honor its seniors before their 5 PM match. Tampa is unbeaten against both Eckerd and Florida Southern this season and will host Eckerd in the 1 PM match and Florida Southern in the 5 PM match. Following Tampa's two matches on Saturday, the Spartans will immediately turn focus to next weekend's AVCA Small College Championships where UT is set to be one of the favorites to hoist the trophy.

About Eckerd: The Tritons are 5-15 this season and are currently on a two-match win streak. Eckerd will face off against Tampa first at 1 PM before facing off against Florida Southern in the 3 PM match. Tampa defeated Eckerd the only time they've played this season, 5-0 while the Mocs and Tritons have split duels. 

About Florida Southern: The Mocs are 20-6 on the season and will play in the Tampa Invite for the second consecutive week. Florida Southern left Tampa without a win in four matches a week ago and hopes to pick up a win when they face Tampa and Eckerd on Saturday. FSC has played UT once this season and lost the duel, 5-0, and will face Eckerd for the third time this season. Florida Southern and Eckerd have split duels this year with the Mocs coming out on top, 4-1 in the most recent duel. The Mocs will play two final matches this weekend in Tampa to end the regular season and head to Tavares for the AVCA Small College Championships.

This Weekend's Schedule: Tampa will open up Saturday, April 6th versus Eckerd, at 1 PM, and will finish the day with a match against Florida Southern at 5 PM. UT will honor its seniors before the 5 PM match and after Eckerd plays Florida Southern in the 3 PM match.
