
Top Seeded Spartans Sweep Florida Southern In SSC First Round
TAMPA, Fla. – The top-seeded University of Tampa beach volleyball team opened the inaugural Sunshine State Conference Beach Volleyball Championships with a dominant showing, defeating No. 3 seed Florida Southern 3–0. With two flights left unfinished after the dual was clinched, the Spartans showcased their depth and composure, advancing confidently in postseason play.
The Spartans came out strong and wasted no time in securing the match, earning straight-set wins in all three completed matches. Nevaeh Wolfe and Hailey Wolfe dominated in the 2's with a 21–11, 21–16 victory, while Anna Bayes and Brooke Green controlled the 4's court from start to finish, winning 21–12, 21–15. At the 5's, Sammie Ostrander and Meghan Schreck sealed the match for Tampa with a sharp 21–9, 21–13 performance. With the match clinched, the remaining matches at the 1's and 3's were left unfinished—though both Tampa pairs were leading at the time of stoppage. Elizabeth Price and Angel Williams held a 21–17, 11–10 edge in the 1's, and Madelynn Hokanson and Hailey Peterson were up 21–15, 17–13 in the 3's.
