Ryan Kennedy Honored as SSC Player of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference has announced University of Tampa second baseman Ryan Kennedy as its Player of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, March 18. Kennedy becomes the fourth Spartan to earn the honor this season, joining teammates Jonathan Holt, Craig Corrado and John Wiedenbauer.

Kennedy, a senior from Bradenton, Fla., hit safely in all four of the Spartans' games last week, including a SSC series win at #4 Florida Southern. Kennedy batted .500 (6-for-12), posted a .833 slugging percentage and reached base at a .684 clip, drawing seven walks in four games. In the three-game series at Florida Southern, Kennedy collected two hits in both UT victories, batting .500 (5-for-10) with two doubles, a home run, two RBI and two runs scored.
