Five Spartans Take South Region Honors
TAMPA, Fla. - University of Tampa baseball player Anthony Perez headlined a list of five Spartans on the Daktronics all-South Region team, which was announced Wednesday.
Perez was the lone Spartan on the first team, as teammates Jesus Barroso, Nolan Brannon, Paul Cruz and Kevin Ferguson were each second team selections.
Voting for the all-region team was done by sports information directors in the South Region, which consists of the South Atlantic Conference, the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Sunshine State Conference, plus independent Palm Beach Atlantic.
Players named to the first-team will appear on the national ballot for the 2008 Daktronics All-America Team.
