Jose Jimenez Named Florida League Player of the Week
LEESBURG, Fla. - University of Tampa baseball player Jose Jimenez enjoyed a stellar performance at the plate in his first week with the Leesburg Lightning of the Florida League. His play earned him FCSL Player of the Week honors for the week of June 9-15.
The first baseman from Miami finished the week going 6-16 with a.375 average to go with three home runs, seven RBI's, four runs and one walk in just five games. He was errorless at first base as well. Two of his home runs were three-run shots as he helped his team to a 3-1 week.
