
Seven Spartans Playing In Summer Baseball Leagues
TAMPA, Fla. - After helping The University of Tampa baseball team to a 40-17 record and their 10th straight NCAA tournament appearance, a total of seven players will represent UT on summer league teams throughout the United States.
Pitcher Tommy Meagher and catcher Mike Bourdon will both play in the New England Collegiate Baseball League as Meagher will represent the Keene Swamp Bats. Bourdon will play for the Manchester Silkworms.
A pair of player will also play in the Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League as outfielder Tyler Cox and pitcher Daniel Foltz will be named to HCBL rosters. Pitcher Carmine Giardina will also play in the Florida Collegiate Baseball League.
Designated hitter Mike Schwartz will also join infielder Jared Simon in the Valley Baseball League. Schwartz will play for the Harrisonburg Turks while Simon will suit up for the Front Royal Cardinals.
