UT To Meet Southern Arkansas For South Region Title
TAMPA, Fla. - After earning a spot in the NCAA Division II South Regional finals, The University of Tampa (45-8) will meet Southern Arkansas University (46-9) on Monday after the Muleriders topped Rollins College on Sunday at the UT Baseball Field.
The battle will pit the region's top two teams as No. 1 SAU and No. 2 UT also carry respective three and two national rankings, according to Ping!Baseball.
The teams met on Saturday as Tampa secured a spot in the finals with a 20-5 victory. The Muleriders needed a 7-1 triumph on Sunday over Rollins to advance.
Monday's first game will begin at 11 a.m., as Tampa needs just one win to advance to the eight-team NCAA Finals in Cary, N.C. on May 22-29. SAU will need two victories on Monday to win the regional, with a second game occurring 30 minutes after game one.
Tickets are available at the gate for $10 (adults) and $6 (students and senior citizens). Children under 5 will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.
