
Mike Schwartz Named All-American As Two Spartans Earn Honorable Mention Status
MARSHALL, Minn. - University of Tampa designated hitter Mike Schwartz was honored as a second-team All-American as fellow Spartans Patrick Donahue (utility) and Evan Stobbs (relief pitcher) were honorable mention selections through Daktronics.
A total of 45 student-athletes, representing 33 institutions
were named to either the first, second or third team All-America
squad, while 18 were named honorable mention. Members of the NCAA
Division II
College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selected
the All-America teams.
Schwartz, a senior from Montville, N.J., was also the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year and first-team all-region selection. While leading UT with a .413 batting average, Schwartz owns the single-season school record with 75 walks to go with a .597 on base percentage. He has also slugged 11 home runs with 54 RBI.
Donahue, a junior from Boca Raton, Fla., ranks second on the team with a .398 batting average. Stobbs, a junior from Myakka City, Fla., carries a 0.76 ERA while owning 10 saves to lead UT.
