Correy Figueroa Signs Free Agent Deal With Kansas City Royals
TAMPA, Fla. - Correy Figueroa became the 10th University of Tampa baseball player to garner Major League Baseball attention as the senior second baseman inked a free agent contract with the Kansas City Royals.
In his second year at UT after spending two seasons at St. Petersburg College, Figueroa was third among all Spartans with a .377 batting average. While starting 51 of 54 games, he also slugged two home runs with 42 RBI.
Figueroa led Tampa with 80 hits while also registering 13 doubles, one triple and a .446 on base percentage.
