
Damon Elder Tabbed SSC Baseball Player Of The Week
ORLANDO, Fla. - Tampa's Damon Elder has garnered Sunshine State Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors for the period ending March 20.
A native of Reno, Nev., Elder led the No. 14 Spartans to an SSC
series sweep against Lynn. The junior DH made the most of his eight
at-bats, picking up five hits, four of which went for extra bases.
He belted an extra-bagger in each of the three games, hitting a
double in the first contest, a triple in the second, and two home
runs in Tampa's 6-5 win in the finale. Elder concluded the series
with three runs and seven RBI. He recorded a .625 batting average,
a .625 OBP, and a 1.750 slugging percentage.
