
Lions Head to Tampa to Take-on Spartans
TAMPA, Fla. - After defeating Warner University in Tuesday nights win, the No. 9 University of Tampa baseball team is set to face Sunshine State Conference foe Saint Leo University in a crucial three-game matchup. The Spartans own a 22-8 record while sitting fourth in the SSC with a 6-3 mark in conference play while the Lions are 9-19 on the season with a 1-8 tally in the SSC.
Freshman outfielder Connor Obrochta went 3-for-4 in Tampa's win over Warner, notching a crucial two-run triple to break the tie and seal the victory for the Spartans. Shortstop Patrick Donahue had a perfect night recording three hits in as many chances, scoring twice for UT.
Saint Leo dropped their last series against another conference opponent Barry University. Lions catcher Jason Hamm tallied four hits in four chances in the 11-5 loss to the Buccaneers, recording two RBI and a walk.
Tampa owns the all-time record against Saint Leo by a towering 92-28 margin, as the Spartans look to gain some ground in the conference.
