
UT Announces Upcoming Baseball Promotions
TAMPA, Fla. - The University of Tampa has announced its promotions schedule for the remaining baseball games, which features a pair of crucial Sunshine State Conference series and a NCAA South Region opponent.
Friday, April 13 will serve as International Day, with plans to have flags of the world at the stadium. There will also be international food sampling that includes JustThai Restaurant. Various international student groups and offices will also be in attendance. There are 117 countries represented in UT enrollment and the students from the country with the highest representation at the game will receive a prize.
On Saturday, April 14, UT will host Law Enforcement Day. TPD's K-9 and S.W.A.T. teams will provide a demonstration following game one of the doubleheader on the field. Police and sheriffs' personnel from the Tampa Bay area are offered free admission to themselves and their families. A campus organization will also be on hand to collect for to the fallen officer fund. Beef O' Brady's is the major participating sponsor.
A campus quest will be held on Friday, April 20 in a joint promotion with resident assistants, where a quest (treasure hunt) around campus will conclude at the Spartans' baseball game. The quest replicates a 1990s Nickelodeon TV game show, Legends of the Hidden Temple, which is popular with UT students. There will be 11 residence hall teams participating. Prizes and recognitions will be presented between innings during the game.
"Water Park at the Ball Park" is on tap for Saturday, April 21 as Student Government has partnered to set up a large inflatable waterslide and dunk tank at the UT Baseball Field. The waterslide will be located outside the fence on the grass behind Straz Hall and the dunk tank behind the concession stand. Also featured are a (virgin) Pina Colada bar and a temporary sand area for "laying out in the sun." Lee Roy Selmon's will handle concessions on Saturday, April 21. All proceeds will go back to the UT baseball program.
The UT Pep Band will also perform between games to put on a concert on the field for 15-20 minutes on April 21.
