City Council Recognizes National Champion Baseball Team

TAMPA, Fla. - After winning the 2013 NCAA Division II baseball championship, the University of Tampa continues to garner attention as the program was recognized by the Tampa City Council on Thursday morning.

Head coach Joe Urso was joined by University administrators and nearly a dozen players from the championship team, which became the sixth in program history and 13th in UT history to win an NCAA title.

A plaque was presented to Urso as Tampa City Councilman Mike Suarez presented commendation to the UT team for the national championship. This took place at a city council meeting at City Hall.
