Pair of Spartans Earn Regional Gold Gloves

BOCA RATON, Fla. - University of Tampa outfielders Connor Obrochta and Michael Danner were recipients of the 2013 ABCA/Rawlings South Region Gold Glove honors.

Danner, a junior from Tampa, turned in a .990 fielding percentage. In 205 chances, Danner had 195 putouts and eight assists, while committing just two errors. Playing left field for the majority of the season, he was perfect in the field for the final 20 games of the 2013 season.

Obrochta, a junior from St. Petersburg, Fla., finished with a .986 fielding percentage while manning centerfield for the national champions. He had 146 chances, including 144 putouts with just two errors.

Voting was conducted by regional coaches, and was presented to nine fielders and one pitcher.
