Tampa’s Dezzi Named Tino Martinez Award Finalist

OMAHA, Neb. -The finalists for the 2014 Jaeger Sports Tino Martinez Award presented by D2Baseballnews.com and College Baseball Lineup for the Division II baseball player of the year have been narrowed to eight candidates. Tampa's Stephen Dezzi is one of the eight selections.

Dezzi, a junior from Sarasota, Fla., was named Daktronics South Region Player of the Year. He was also named All-SSC First Team, Daktronics All-South Region First Team, ABCA All-South Region First Team and NCBWA All-South Region First Team.

The award is presented to the most outstanding player in Division II baseball. The annual honor is named after former University of Tampa Spartan, United States Olympian and MLB All-Star Tino Martinez.
