Championship Central: Tampa vs. Henderson State
CARY, N.C. - The University of Tampa baseball team will face Henderson State University at the 2015 NCAA Division II Championship Series at the USA National Training Complex. The Spartans remain undefeated at the championships and need one win over the Reddies to advance to the national championship game(s). HSU would need to defeat UT twice to advance in the double elimination tournament.
The Spartans and Reddies will play in game 11 of the tournament on Thursday at 12 noon. The South Region champions own a 41-13 overall record as the champions of the Central Region stand at 33-20. A UT win would advance the Spartans to the national championship game(s), to be played either Friday or Saturday depending on the outcome of games played on the other side of the bracket. An HSU game would prompt a game between the same teams on Friday, with the winner moving to the championship game.
Catawba is also undefeated in the tournament, and will meet Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday at 4 p.m.
