
Spartans Fall to Pioneers in Game One
The University of Tampa Spartans traveled to Tusculum, Tennessee to take on the Pioneers for a weekend series and dropped game one, 6-3.
TAMPA, Fla. - The No. 3 University of Tampa Spartans took on the No. 25 ranked Tusculum Pioneers and fell 6-3.

How it happened
- Laz Rivera started out the top of the inning for the Spartans by doubling to left center. Vin Cosenzo grounded out to second base and advanced L. Rivera to third base. Andrew DiLacqua came up to bat and reached first on a fielding error by the second baseman and L. Rivera scored.
- The top of third started on a walk for Richie Rivera. Danny Lee singled to left center and advanced to second on the throw, advancing R. Rivera to third. Kevin Santa got on base after being hit by the pitch. Darren Miller singled through the left side, scoring Lee and R. Rivera.
- The Pioneers scored one run in the bottom of the sixth and the seventh. They scored four more runs in the bottom of the eighth.
- The Spartans did not score again and the Pioneers went on to win 6-3.

- Miller went 2-4 with two RBI.
- L. Rivera went 2-4 with one run.
