Six Spartans Earn a Spot on D2CCA All-South Region Team

TAMPA, Fla. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) have announced its 2017 All-South Region Teams. In total six Spartans were awarded All-Region.

Earning a spot on the first team were shortstop Kevin Santa, utility player Darren Miller, and starting pitcher David Lebron. Placing on the second team were first baseman J.D. Osborne, second baseman Laz Rivera, and designated hitter Vin Cosenzo.

Those that earned First Team status will now advance to the All-America ballot.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.

UT is set to play Nova Southeastern in the second round of NCAA South Regional play Friday at 8:00 p.m.
