
Spartans Set to Host No. 18 Catawba College for Mid-Week Matchup
The University of Tampa baseball team welcomes the Indians for a two-game series.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team will host the No. 18 Catawba College Indians for a two-game series Tuesday and Wednesday at 6 pm.
The Matchup: No. 4 the University of Tampa vs. No. 18 Catawba College
Date/Time: Tuesday, March 6th at 6 p.m. and Wednesday, March 7th at 6 p.m.
Location: University of Tampa Baseball Field | Tampa, Fla.
About the Spartans: The No. 4 ranked University of Tampa Spartans are led by freshman Drew Ehrhard who has a .381 hitting percentage. Stephen Smith has the second leading batting average with .359. Darren Miller leads the team in RBIs with 17 while Harrison Bragg leads in home runs with four. Mark Moclair leads the pitching order with 0.45 ERA and 20 innings pitched. David Lebron leads the team in strikeouts with 39.
About the Indians: The Indians are traveling to Tampa after opening the season with an 8-11 record. As a team, the Indians have a .306 batting average, .419 on-base percentage, and a .494 slugging percentage. Kyle Smith leads the team in batting average with .383 and RBIs with 24. Riley Myers leads the pitching order with a 4.15 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
Series History: Tampa owns the all-time series over Catawba by a 14-2 mark.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
