
Spartans Welcome Barry for Weekend Series
The University of Tampa baseball team is set to host the Barry Bucs starting Friday.
TAMPA, Fla. – The University of Tampa baseball team will host the Barry University Buccaneers for a weekend series. The first pitch will be thrown at 6 pm on Friday.
The Matchup: No. 10 the University of Tampa vs. Barry University
Date/Time: Friday, March 23rd at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 24th at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m.
Location: University of Tampa Baseball Field | Tampa, Fla.
About the Spartans: The No. 7 ranked University of Tampa Spartans are led by junior Nick DeTringo who has a .360 hitting percentage. Stephen Smith has the second leading batting average with .351. Harrison Bragg leads the team in RBIs with 22. Mark Moclair leads the pitching order with a 0.72 ERA. David Lebron leads the team in strikeouts with 64.
About the Bucs: The Bucs are traveling to Tampa after opening the season with a 12-14 overall record and a 1-8 conference record. As a team, the Bucs have a .313 batting average, .410 on-base percentage, and a .455 slugging percentage. Andrew Rapoza leads the team in batting average with .381. Johnathan Quintana leads the team with 32 RBIs. Mason Kemp leads the pitching order with a 3.38 ERA while Johnathan Hernandez leads with 28 strikeouts.
Series History: Tampa owns the all-time series over the Bucs by a 75-25 mark.
Tickets: Tickets for are $5 for adults, senior citizens, and coaches. Children under 12 will be admitted free. UT students, faculty and staff will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
